As a bi-lateral knee replacement, osteoporotic client at 60 years of age I gave Alex quite a challenge when I started. I wanted to be limber and strong enough to nanny my 2-year-old granddaughters without hurting them or myself. After about 6 months I was able to do step ups, get ups and even stand ups - all occupational necessities. I now easily sit on the floor cross-legged and can stand up with ease using several methods, some without hands. My overall balance and strength have improved: core, back and upper arm. But just in case, Alex teaches me strategies for protecting myself if I do fall. I appreciate the way he uses the time well and I always feel like I’ve pushed myself. Its hard but I leave encouraged. My husband saw the benefits I was getting and started with Alex, too. I recommend him to anyone but especially to those who have special concerns that a trainer needs to know and address. Alex is a trainer that listens and helps get results that you won’t think are possible.

In 2016 I weighed over 500 lbs. After becoming a grandfather for the first time, I decided that I had to make a change. I worked with a couple of different trainers and made some good progress. Then I met Alex Luchini, and for the first time someone truly understood what I wanted both physically and mentally. I wasn’t looking to be Charles Atlas or “The Rock”, I just wanted to be able to interact with my grandson, my family, and to participate more fully in life. When you are nearly 60 years old and obese, many of life’s activities are just not available to you. Changing your life at any age is difficult, but as we get older it gets even harder. Alex was essential in getting my mind in tune with my body. He is very skilled at listening to you and understanding what your goals (and limitations) are. Alex then develops an individual path designed just for you and leads you down that path one step at a time until you meet and surpass your goals. I now have lost 220 pounds and 20 inches from my waist. I still have just over 2 years left on my 5 year plan and hope to meet and surpass my new and more challenging goals.

I used to look at life and see what I couldn’t do, I now look at life and see what I CAN do! I am not saying any of this was easy, but if you have the desire and commitment to better your life, then there is no one more suited than Alex to help you get there.

I have been training with Alex for over a year on my overall strength and mobility. Alex’s adaptive, personal approach and formal knowledge of exercise physiology has been especially important in addressing my chronic movement issues associated with Parkinson’s. With Alex’s help, I have been able to reach new levels of fitness and overall daily mobility safely and at my own pace. I would recommend Alex and Reconnect Fitness to anyone who desires a professional, individualized approach to physical training that safely delivers measurable results.
